Felix Mogaka

Felix Mogaka is an STI treatment and prevention advocate based in Kenya. He is a clinical research scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute, Centre for Microbiology Research, Research Care and Training Program, in Kisumu, Kenya. His research focuses on the prevention of STIs and HIV through newer diagnostics, biomedical prevention, expanding reach and access to sexual health services through differentiated service delivery models, and collaborations with the ministry of health to translate research into policy.
Mercy Nyakowa

Mercy Nyakowa brings over a decade of experience in public health programming, in Kenya at the intersection of HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis. She currently serves as Program Officer for and Viral Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (VHSTI) Section at the National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP), where drives strategic policy development, guideline formulation, and capacity building of healthcare workers, while providing technical and operational support for National STIs initiatives.
As a Secretariat of the National STI Technical Working Group (TWG), Mercy champions stakeholder collaboration, resource mobilization, and advocacy to accelerate STI prevention, care, and elimination. With a strong foundation in implementation science, she is passionate about translating evidence into actionable policy and practice, strengthening STI prevention, screening, and treatment across Kenya. Ensuring interventions are evidence based and contextually relevant.
